Situated on the top floor of a historic railroad building, Saltara Healing Studio is a true sanctuary surrounded by windows, lush greenery, an in-studio waterfall, and ancient Himalayan salt. Often referred to as “white gold” in the Himalayas, this sacred salt—formed hundreds of millions of years ago—is among the purest on the Planet.

We’ve always been drawn to its ancient, mystical essence. Mined from the Punjab region of Pakistan, at the base of the Himalayan mountains, Himalayan salt is more than a beautiful element of our space. It’s said to purify the air, uplift the spirit, and invite deep nervous system regulation—evoking the same sense of calm and renewal one feels by the ocean. That’s the experience we want to evoke within Saltara.

Saltara was born through a friendship that blossomed while working side by side at a New Jersey yoga studio—and through a shared vision to create a healing sanctuary rooted in both science and soul. The name itself is a divine play on words: SALT + TARA, a blend of our names that serendipitously revealed deeper meaning.

In Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sanskrit, Tara carries profound symbolism. In Hindu mythology, she embodies creation, wisdom, and unconditional love—the fierce yet compassionate energy that guides transformation. In Buddhism, Green Tara protects against inner obstacles such as fear, pride, and doubt, while White Tara represents purity, longevity, and grace. Across these traditions, she is seen as the guiding star of the soul.

Fittingly, Tara also translates to “star” in both Sanskrit and Punjabi—tying back to the very region where Himalayan salt is formed. It was as if every detail, every layer, every meaning aligned in perfect synchronicity. ✨

At its heart, Saltara is a reminder that we are all made of stardust—that our inner light connects us to one another and to all that is.
