You may book this room alone or with a friend and enjoy the infrared sauna, red light therapy, halotherapy, BioMat, PEMF, and/or EquiSync® meditations. We are also now accepting reservations for massage, reflexology, and/or astro-reiki sessions!
The infrared sauna experience is similar to lying in the sun on a warm day and feeling the heat radiate to your body's core. Scientists have established that infrared waves are beneficial to the human body as they increase thermal energy in the body. Infrared does this without any of the harmful rays of sunlight.
Unlike traditional saunas that feature steam or dry heat, infrared sauna heaters emit infrared light, which is invisible to the naked eye and deeply absorbed by the body. They also do not feel as hot as a traditional sauna. Infrared Saunas help increase detoxification through sweating, bringing oxygen and nutrients to the skin's surface, and stimulating collagen.
Because infrared heat penetrates human tissue versus simply heating the skin's surface, infrared saunas are seven times more effective than traditional saunas at detoxifying the body. They are more efficient than other saunas (shorter sessions), require less electricity, and have LOW EMF (electromagnetic field) properties.
Saltara's new, state-of-the-art sauna is Full-Spectrum (near/mid/far infrared wavelengths) with virtually no EMF/ELF (Extremely Low Frequency). It combines carbon/ceramic heaters that produce unmatched healing infrared heat. Our sauna is Non-Toxic, Eco-Certified North American Basswood.
Think of Red light therapy as the wavelengths of light your body needs from the sunlight without the heat or UV rays that may cause sun damage. Natural red light powers your cells - it gives the body energy! These natural, therapeutic light photons produce a chemical reaction in your cells' mitochondria, boosting energy production and regeneration while reducing oxidative stress.
Red light therapy is often used for treating the skin and superficial/topical conditions as it cannot penetrate deep into the body. When Red light is combined with one or more infrared light (long) wavelengths, it is known as Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT).
PBMT is the application of red and near-infrared light to skin tissue to increase circulation and cellular energy, which leads to improved healthy cell function and repair. NASA originally began experimenting with red light therapy on plant growth in space to help heal wounds in astronauts!
Hundreds of peer-reviewed clinical trials have yielded positive results on infrared saunas and red light therapy (photobiomodulation). And the health benefits are vast!
Some reported health benefits of Infrared Sauna:
Some reported health benefits of Red Light Therapy:
Contraindications for Infrared Sauna:
Individuals using Warfarin or other blood-thinning drugs should not use the sauna. Individuals using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their physician or a pharmacist for possible changes in the drug's effect when the body is exposed to infrared energy. Diuretics, barbiturates, and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat-loss mechanisms. Some over-the-counter medicines, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.
Contraindications for Red Light Therapy:
We recommend "stacking" wellness services to gain maximum health benefits. And the combination of Infrared Light with Red Light (photobiomodulation) is profound. That being said, you can use the Sauna withOUT the Red Light and vice-versa.
*You can also add HALOTHERAPY (salt air therapy) to these sessions.
