Please don't hesitate to reach out to us, if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We have a variety of certified teachers with different yogic backgrounds. Most of our classes are some form of Hatha~Raja~Vinyasa, which connects the breath to your movements while focusing on meditation and energetics. The goal is to achieve balance and harmony in our physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual bodies - and weave that balance and harmony into the rest of our lives.
Classes are infused with a variety of different techniques (kriyas) that are used to accelerate physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual growth and healing, such as yoga postures (asanas), breath-work (pranayama), meditation (dhyāna), sacred sounds and chanting (Sanskrit mantras), and spiritual hand gestures (mudras).
You'll also see classes on the schedule, such as Kundalini and Restorative.
Remember that it doesn't matter where you are on your journey; we all come to the mat with different levels of strength, flexibility, and balance, even day to day!
Many yoga postures (asanas) have variations ranging from basic to advanced. So, if you experience any pain or discomfort, we encourage you to adjust your posture. It's perfectly okay to move at a slower, more gentle pace or even take a REST when you need to while having respect and compassion for your body. Wherever you end up for each posture - presence and peace of mind is the goal!
You may hear Sanskrit chants or terms throughout the class; classes may focus on yoga philosophy, meditation, mindfulness, or breathing. While asanas are pivotal, they are just one of the many facets of Yoga. Breath practice (pranayama) is another essential part of Yoga, so remember to come back to taking full breaths in and out as you move through each shape.
We have a NEW STUDENT SPECIAL, which is 21 days of unlimited yoga for $47. This is the perfect way to try as many classes as possible to see what works best for you and your schedule!
It is recommended to reserve your space for yoga classes and other services ahead of time. We use a scheduling platform called MOMENCE, where you must create an account your first time; Momence has a very convenient APP if you plan to visit us regularly:
All classes are listed on our CLASSES page.
You can easily book online for services such as Infrared Sauna and BioMat.
For one-on-one services, such as acupuncture, massage therapy, reiki, astrology, etc, it is best to call the studio or email: support@saltarahealing.com
All you need is a yoga mat. We have mats and props for use and sale if you need them.
What to wear: breathable fabrics that you can comfortably move in. Nothing too loose that can bunch up, nor anything too tight.
It is best not to eat 1-2 hours before a yoga class - and to practice on a nearly empty stomach if you can. Likewise, drinking plenty of water before and after class is recommended, but try to avoid it during practice. Ayurvedic (traditional Indian) medicine says yoga helps the body build the digestive fire necessary to break down food and to drink in the middle of practice quenches that fire.
Before entering the yoga studio, there is an area in reception to leave your shoes, phone, keys, coats, etc. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Please inform the instructor if you are pregnant, or have any physical limitations, injuries, or medical conditions BEFORE CLASS, so they can help you take a different posture variation and/or assist you with using props. Likewise, please inform the instructor if you prefer to refrain from receiving any hands-on assistance.
Arrival Time: please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your scheduled class or appointment to allow time to destress and settle in. There may be forms to fill out, especially on your first visit.
When you arrive at the studio, please check in at the front desk so we know who has arrived and whom we’re still expecting.
Please be sure you can attend the entire class and avoid leaving early, if possible. If you happen to need to leave early, please let the instructor know before class starts. Please never leave class DURING savasana (the final relaxation period at the end of class). But we do encourage you to take a mini-savasana before you have to head out!
Please leave your cell phone on silent and outside the yoga classroom so you can fully disconnect. If, for some reason, this is not possible (for example, if you have children that may need to reach you), please keep it on silent next to you.
Be mindful as you enter the yoga studio; other students may meditate or rest before class starts.
Quietly unroll your mat and grab any props you need.
We clean our studio, props, common areas, and equipment using botanical cleaners proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, along with the regular use of incense and essential oils that are antibacterial and antiviral.
We have Intellipure Virus Air Purification Systems in each room, which capture particulates 40x smaller than HEPA filters (as small as .007 microns!), making it the most efficient virus air purifier available.
We have the best surface & space sterilizer on the market, which goes beyond “purifying” the air. Sterile-Bright uses patented Ultraviolet + Ozone technology proven to neutralize 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores — and fast!
We also have a UV Wand that disinfects 99.9% of germs, bacteria, and viruses within seconds! Many bacteria and viruses are heat, cold and drug-resistant but are not resistant to Ultraviolet light (UV).
We currently have 16 (max) yoga mat spaces in the studio, so it’s essential to reserve your space ahead of time and arrive before class starts.
We work very hard to provide you with the healthiest, cleanest, and safest environment that we possibly can, and we ask that you do your part for our community as well:

If you are pregnant and are given 'the ok' from your healthcare provider, please arrive early and let the teacher know the stage of your pregnancy and any additional concerns. This is so they can help you with different posture variations and/or assist you with using props.
When pregnant, the body produces more hormone called Relaxin, which loosens all the joints and ligaments to prep the body for birth. This can make you feel more flexible and cause you to overstretch, be much more sore than usual afterward, or even cause injury. So, it's important to take gentle movements and not push yourself too far into any posture.
If you have never practiced yoga or have minimal experience with yoga, sticking to prenatal yoga classes might be your best bet. These routines are gentle and designed specifically for expectant mothers.
Suppose you already have an established yoga practice; many postures are safe to continue, while others may need to be modified or omitted.
Postures to avoid or modify while pregnant:
We'll typically follow suit with the Warwick Valley school closures, which are decided by the local transportation staff, police, and district leaders. And we'll always send out a newsletter and post on social media ASAP with any changes.
